I haven't ran out of TV shows to watch, so God only knows why I watched two pilots today. Both medical procedural, but different formats. One is a half-hour comedy, the other a one-hour drama. Both are good, but I like one better than the other. Unfortunately for me, it's the one that has been canceled already so I only have about thirteen episodes to enjoy.
The Mindy Project is a half-hour comedy that follows the romcom obsess OB/GYN Mindy Lahiri. The pilot was good enough to warrant more viewings from me. But there is a definite room for improvement with this show that needs to be occupied sooner rather than later.

The other pilot I watched was Emily Owens M.D. which surprised me a lot. I never really cared for Grey's Anatomy, so why I like this show is beyond me. I only wanted to watch it because I kinda missed the gorgeous Justin Hartley. Never thought I would actually like it. While it lacked the sort of edge Grey's Anatomy has, this show's lightheartedness was actually a big draw for me. I totally forgot that I wanted to watch it 'cause of just one actor. Simple things amuse simple minds I guess, cause hearing the line "The day after never" from a twelve-year old character after being asked when will she tell Cody, the boy she likes, that she likes him was "Eureka! I love this show." moment for me. But like I said, I only have a handful of episodes to enjoy. I guess this is not my year for TV after Partners and Last Resort being canceled as well. Regardless, I will still enjoy what I can get.
